How to Best Cope with the Corona Virus
1. Practice Mindfulness Live the moment without being overwhelmed by what’s going on around you. Try meditation or guided imagery, focusing your imagination to create calm, peaceful images in your mind.
2. Alway Think Positive
How you think affects how you feel and how you behave. If you are having negative thoughts, change them to a positive ones (e.g., “I will stay healthy by reading, singing, laughing and connecting with friends virtually”). Repeat these positive thoughts several times a day.
3. Stay Physically Active
Exercise regularly. Physical activity can help relieve daily stress. Even short walks and dancing can help.
4. Talk to Someone Tell a family member, teacher or friend how you are feeling. Contact counseling services if fears and anxiety begin to interfere with your daily functioning.
5. Practice Good Hygiene
Wash your hands thoroughly for 20 seconds, cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough with your elbow or with a tissue that you immediately throw away. Eliminate hand-shaking and practice social distancing. Disinfect all surfaces regularly.
